One Year Old
Happy birthday to me. DM Reporter is one today. It’s been a funny old year - I honestly didn’t think that the account would have very nearly 13,000 followers after this short time (which, it should be pointed out, is 11 times more followers than the official Daily Mail account) - Twitter spoof accounts are 2 a penny these days so the engagement and replies are genuinely appreciated.

You’re all simply bloody incredible.
£20,000 raised in 60 hours!
For someone who has spent much of the last 5 days typing I am now completely stuck for words. Collectively we’ve raised £20,000 in two and a half days - nearly £25,000 if you included Gift Aid.
That is bigger, better and more brilliant that I could ever have hoped for. If I’m honest - really honest, like Liz is - I thought we’d maybe raise a couple of hundred quid; I figured...
Liz Jones in Somalia
Surprise! @LizJonesSomalia is a fake! Oh wow. No-way! Pah! Who knew?
About two thirds of you, actually - which is great, because if I’d got 50 negative replies a minute I’d have stopped a long time ago. I’m genuinely delighted that so many people get the joke and totally appreciative of the responses and RT’s. A lot of it is very close to the bone - and if you want to see...

Japan
I think by now it’s pretty fair to say that what has happened in Japan is a catastrophic disaster. Watching footage of the tsunami powering across the country is hard to take, and it really demonstrates the staggering scale of such an event.
I love Japan. I was lucky enough spend some time working there and it is, without a doubt, my favourite country in the world. My thoughts go to...

A Note About That Previous Tweet...
Kevin Costner’s The Postman doesn’t deliver the goods in this universe…
…is the title of the worst piece of journalism I have ever read. It was written for the Doncaster Entertainer on the 26th February 1998 by Darren Burke, from the movies column.
I have included it here for you. Click to embiggen.
It’s not the most hateful piece of journalism I’ve ever...

I am no-longer the Daily Mail Reporter
It was bound to happen sooner or later. The Daily Mail have complained to Twitter about my account. I don’t blame them, to be honest…

Cable Resigns
Hello. I’m the Daily Mail Reporter. Except, obviously, I’m not - because if you read any of my tweets, looked at my profile picture or scanned my bio you’d clearly see that I’m a joke.
Thanks, though, to Sky News for treating me like a real reporter - makes me feel important that in this day and age of instant news flashes that a joke about news being prepared in...
